Appeal of the Main State Traffic Police Department of the MIA to the Public Regarding Environmental Protection

Unfortunately, there are still cars on the highways, the amount of harmful substances released into the atmosphere in the exhaust gases of the engine exceeds the norm. According to experts, today, more than 75 percent of air pollutants in the country fall on the share of automobile and fuel engines. Amount of emissions from air transport in the country to atmospheric air are estimated at about 700,000 tons per year.The Main State Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources will organize a “Clean air” month to prevent damage to the environment and human health from harmful emissions from cars. The main goal of holding such preventive measures is to prevent the operation of motor vehicles in which the amount of harmful substances released into the atmosphere in the exhaust gases of the engine exceeds the norm on the highways of our country, to educate drivers, as well as physical and legal entities engaged in passenger and cargo transportation activities, about the damage caused to the environment, including people's life and health, by the use of defective vehicles.
In order to ensure the right of the society to live in a healthy environment, once again we ask drivers, physical and legal entities to use motor vehicles in good condition from technical point of view, otherwise we will take measures in accordance with the legislation in connection with revealed violations.
At the same time, we appeal to the population and ask them to consider the painful consequences of driving, to reduce the use of cars if it is not necessary, to give preference to the use of public and at the same time alternative means of transport, and to take advantage of the benefits of walking.
