About tinted glass


Using covers (film, curtain) in all forms and sizes that limit the driver’s view scope and spoil transparency of the glasses, was defined in Annex 1 of the Law of Azerbaijan Republic “On Road Traffic” as disorders causing the prohibition of a vehicle’s use.

According to the requirements of this Law the application of glasses made only by industrial method and transparency of which is appropriate to state standards, is allowed.

According to the standard № AZS 122-2004 of the State Agency on Standardization, Metrology and Patent of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the transparency of glass providing the driver’s view in cars should not be below the following limits:

For glasses against the wind - 75 %
For other glasses not against the wind - 70 %

Transparency of rear glasses of cars is not normalized with condition of providing driver’s back view from the saloon.

Appropriate to the Annex 1 of the Law of Azerbaijan Republic “On Road Traffic”, if there are external mirrors on both sides showing the rear, it is allowed to use cover (film, curtain) and to hang louvers made by industrial method, only on rear glasses. It is not allowed to use covers (film, curtain) on motor vehicle glasses, transparency limit of which has been determined.

Also taking into account the climate of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the use of louvers made by industrial method on these glasses is allowed annually from May 1 to November 15.
