Appeal to pedestrians from the Main State Traffic Police Department!
08.09.2022Pedestrian safety is one of the urgent issues of today.
In order to ensure the safety of pedestrians, who are the most unprotected road users, and to prevent traffic accidents that may occur with their involvement, the Main State Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs regularly implements control and preventive measures.
Unfortunately, we must note that despite the repeated warnings in the media, on the social network accounts we use, and the promotional and awareness-raising works carried out, there are still people who are indifferent to the vital issue of safety among pedestrians, which turns them into victims of traffic accidents.
The analysis of recorded traffic incidents involving pedestrians shows that the absolute majority of such accidents occur near pedestrian lanes or underground passages or overpasses, especially at night.
For this reason, the Main State Traffic Police Department once again appeals to pedestrians and urges them to be careful, including refraining from using phone and other similar devices when crossing the road, not to slow down at pedestrian crossings at the same level, to cross the road only in places intended for their movement, to comply with the requirements of traffic lights, to unconditionally comply with safety rules, especially when driving with minor children.
Do not forget that a sudden inattention can cost you or other road users’ lives. So let’s take care of our lives and health by following the traffic rules!
