Cars that fail to meet the safety standards remain a threat on the roadways
28.01.2025It is regrettable to observe that there are still vehicles on our roads that do not meet the necessary technical safety standards and fail to meet the contemporary safety regulations, resulting in numerous fatal accidents involving these vehicles.
The recent incident in the Shamkir district, which led to the loss of five lives, further substantiates our conclusion. The aforementioned traffic accident, while resulting from a serious violation of regulations, was exacerbated by the absence of modern safety features in the "VAZ" brand vehicles involved, which considerably heightened the severity of the incident. Certainly, had these vehicles been equipped with active, passive, and post-accident safety systems that adhere to contemporary standards, the outcome would likely have been less catastrophic.
Therefore, it is essential that our drivers refrain from endangering themselves and other road users by operating vehicles that are outdated and fail to comply with contemporary safety standards regarding technical safety.
