Appeal of the MIA Main STP Department to the car owners

During 2020, 187 out of 197 stolen and hijacked vehicles in the republic were found in hot pursuit, and search operations are underway for 10 cars. 49 out of 53 hijacked cars from the regions of the republic, 138 out of 144 hijacked cars in Baku were found.  

Compared to the corresponding period of 2019, the number of stolen, hijacked vehicles decreased by 3 facts, and the number of cars in search decreased by 6 facts.

During the analyses conducted, it was revealed that such crimes are often committed during the night times of the day, and the object of the crime is vehicles with a weak locking system, no alarm system and easy to set in motion (which are manufactured mainly in the Russian Federation and old) mainly parked away from residential zones, in unlit road areas.
Taking into account the aforementioned, we ask the car owners and drivers to pay attention to the above-mentioned cases when parking their vehicles to prevent such crimes and protect their properties from illegal acts.
