Appeal of the Main STP Department of the MIA

In order to prevent possible traffic accidents due to a decrease in weather temperature, fall of rain and snow in some regions, as well as in the capital Baku, the Main STP Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs recommends drivers once again to be extremely careful and cautious, not to apply sudden braking, to use tires as little as possible in vehicles that are not suitable for the winter season, taking into account the fact that vehicles are more likely to slip, to choose the distance and speed according to the conditions, not to overtake unnecessarily, not to make sudden maneuvers; while it recommends pedestrians to cross the road only in the places designated for them, not to walk on the carriageway due to the wet asphalt cover, oncoming cars will not be able to stop for a short distance while crossing the road.
It is currently snowing on the 85th km of the Baku-Guba-Russia border road, including Gandob-Yalama road, starting from the 48th km of the Baku-Shamakhi-Yekhlakh road, as well as on the Agsu pass; there is snow and icing in some places on the road, it is snowing and moving from the 400th km of the Baku-Gazakh-Georgia border road.
It is hereby asked to use vehicles equipped with winter tires with both axles leading in the mentioned directions, as well as those who are not able to drive in snowy weather and icy roads not to travel.
