Appeal to Pedestrians from the MSTPD: Follow the Rules – Don’t Risk Your Life

The safety of human life in road traffic depends not only on drivers, but also on pedestrians. Unfortunately, pedestrians' failure to obey traffic rules, their habit of crossing the road at any point, and their disregard for basic safety rules are among the main causes of tragic accidents in our country. The most dangerous aspect is that some pedestrians perceive traffic violations as normal behavior, thereby putting both their own lives and the lives of other road users at risk. Crossing the road when the traffic light is red, acting carelessly in areas with heavy vehicle traffic, and walking while using phones or other distractions ultimately lead to irreversible tragedies.
Everyone should know this: The road is a shared space, and the rules apply to everyone. Any road user, be it a driver or a pedestrian, who disregards the rules bears responsibility.
The simplest yet most effective way to prevent pedestrian accidents is to use designated crossings, follow traffic light signals, and stay alert. Any pedestrian who fails to follow these basic principles—whether intentionally or through carelessness, puts not only their own life at risk, but also the lives of other road users.
Remember! Every step taken in violation of the rules could mean the end of a life.
